Strapina Winery is a family-owned company located in the Pálava region, near the Austrian border. The company is currently led by Luboš Strapina, the grandson of the winery’s founder. All family members, from the oldest to the youngest, are involved in the winemaking process, from grape harvest to bottle filling.
At Strapina Winery, wines are produced with respect for local traditions and experience, while also embracing experimentation with new techniques. As a result, Strapina Winery offers a rich portfolio of wines, ranging from „classic“ varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon, and Welschriesling, to more „modern“ and popular wines like Frizzantes, Cuvées, Fortified wines, and, most recently, Orange wine, inspired by the Kvevri method.
All of Strapina’s wines are crafted with a focus on quality, for which they have earned numerous awards both locally and internationally. They won a Silver medal for their Aurelius at AWC Vienna in 2017 and again in 2018, as well as a Gold medal for their Zweigeltrebe Rosé Frizzante at Král Vín in 2020.
